Complete UAS Operations in Marine Environments

Rotary wing unmanned aircraft is becoming a critical tool to make maritime operations a success. One of the advantages of UAVs over manned aircraft is their ability to fly over hazardous areas, where the operation of manned aircraft could be risky for the crew. Likewise, the execution of a repetitive mission could lead to fatigue so having a UAS fleet waiting for a watch relief eases the continuous surveillance. The capability of Vertical Take-Off and Landing, the higher MTOW they allow, and also its performance flying on hover makes helicopter UAS perfect for these applications.

In order to perform complete UAS operations in marine environments, an advanced and cutting-edge flight control system is required. 

UAV Navigation systems allow a fully autonomous operation, from take-off to landing, including dynamic and referenced flight paths with waypoints coordinates automatically updated and changed regarding a reference point or object, as it is the mothership. Additionally, the system can use an external device to provide the reference position and velocity when landing.

Our autopilot has been proven on sea operations worldwide. Its ability to fly in extreme conditions makes it suitable for difficult and dangerous scenarios with different humidity or sea-salt concentrations. In addition, the MIL-STD-461F certification ensures the excellent performance of the autopilot in an environment with a high level of radiation and magnetism due to the onboard antennas and the metallic equipment in a ship.

By means of this technology, our rotary wing clients will be able to perform a high precision command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR), ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance), and rescue missions easily. This way, port security, anti-piracy or anti-drug operations, and real-time animal monitoring will be easy to perform thanks to our flight control system.
