Drone autopilot certification

Drone autopilot certification is a key element when developing a platform and obtaining, in turn, the corresponding certification to be able to carry out advanced missions. If a UAV has components that have been previously certified, they will have greater guarantees when it comes to demonstrating the capabilities and functionalities necessary for professional use.

 

Drone autopilot certification in the United States

United States Military standard (such as MIL-STD 461F) ensures that products meet certain minimum requirements and reliability standards established by the United States Department of Defense.

The drone autopilot certification standard is also used by government organizations or non-defense industries as a way to demonstrate that their products meet the criteria. UAV Navigation's VECTOR autopilot has achieved the following MIL-STD certifications:

MIL-STD 810F
MIL-STD 461F

 

Personalization and certification

The system design and verification process of the aircraft requires a comprehensive and very demanding program of analysis, requirements grouping, verifications and tests that affect each of the subsystems within the platform. As an example of this demanding process, drone autopilot certification is a process that requires very clear and well-written source code, with strict rules that only experienced professionals can modify and develop to ensure system reliability. Airborne electronic software and hardware, critical parts of the development and whose errors could directly lead to a risk in the operation, must be developed in accordance with an industry standard or a methodology recognized as adequate by the competent authority.
