UAV Navigation in Depth: High-Quality Manufacturing for A High-Quality Product

As a developer and manufacturer of professional-grade autopilots, UAV Navigation is committed to the highest aviation standards in terms of product performance, accuracy and reliability. 

UAV Navigation has its own laboratory in Madrid (Spain), where our engineers design, manufacture, and test our products to ensure they are reliable and meet our client expectations.

Our Production Department is formed by a specialized team that assembles the different components of the autopilot and executes tests to certify the quality of our products. UAV Navigation's manufacturing facility is equipped with state-of-the-art calibration and measurement tools, which count with calibration certificates provided by external and specialized organisms to ensure that our instruments work on the precise ranges as required.

The laboratory includes all the equipment required for manufacturing, calibrating, and testing, including aerospace grade temperature chambers that cover the declared operating range of a system, 'tri-axis moving platform' for IMU calibration, and state-of-the-art MPS43 air data test units manufactured by D. Marchiori (a leading precision air data instrument manufacturer) to ensure the outstanding capabilities of its Air Data System among other tools.

Our experts test the unit on a temperature chamber to perform a precision system-level calibration. Each of the calibration coefficients is a function of temperature. Additionally, we also use a 6-point turning table for IMU calibration. The study of every unit helps us to detect any sensor misalignment and even possible soldering or assembling issues.

Upon the completion of these tasks, all products that leave the facility must pass exhaustive Quality Control checks as well so that they are subdued to an individual Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP), where the products’ functioning will be verified before being issued a Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

All these tests confirm our commitment to provide industrial-grade products and guarantee our products meet the requirements specified in our datasheets. Of course, the units which do not comply with our strict quality standards are refurbished or removed from the manufacturing chain.

This meticulous manufacturing process has earn the company a reputation among its customers for offering accurate, reliable, and robust products.
