Transponder ADS B Integration


UAV Navigation is pleased to announce proven full autopilot compatibility with the Sagetech XPG-TR Transponder ADS B and XPS-TR range of UAV transponders.

Not only is the VECTOR autopilot capable of controlling all types of UAV platform, it can also be integrated with a wide variety of payloads, including both daylight and thermal cameras, laser and radar altimeters etc. In this case a major UAV manufacturer from the Czech Republic needed to integrate two different kinds of Sagetech transponder into a new fixed wing, piston-engined UAV.

The difference between the two types of transponder is the GPS source; for the XPG-TR the GPS is included, whilst in the XPS-TR the GPS information is provided by the VECTOR autopilot, giving maximum flexibility.

Transponder ADS B

Configuration and control of the transponder ADS B is achieved via the Visionair interface, allowing the operator to set critical mission parameters before flight, but also permitting update on the fly when the situation demands it. For example the squawk code, which provides ATC with information about the aircraft status, flight ID and other relevant details such as altitude, can be modified whilst the UAV is in flight.

Other type of transponder ADS B, including those from other manufacturer's (e.g. Microair) can be integrated with the VECTOR upon request.
