UAV Navigation, a leading developer of flight control avionics and motion processing solutions, announces that it will be supplying its unbeatable ATOM AHRS (Attitude & Heading Reference System) module for AvMap to bundle with its EKP V Aeronautical GPS.
The ATOM module turns the 7" display on the EKP V into a complete Electronic Flight Information System (EFIS). AvMap has integrated the ATOM module into its A2 ADAHRS (Air Data and AHRS), which extends the functionality of the EKP V, bringing attitude and airspeed to the moving map and converting it into a centralized Glass Cockpit system for both navigation and as the primary flight display. This makes it ideal for the experimental, ultra-light, sport and general aviation markets.
One of UAV Navigation's key strengths is its ability to provide business-to-business turnkey technical solutions in the flight control area, enabling companies rapidly to develop advanced prototypes in record time.
AvMap was established in Italy in 1994 within the C-MAP Group, the world leader in electronic chart technology. AvMap made its debut in the aeronautical market with the Electronic Knee Pad (EKP), one of the world's most successful flight navigation systems. AvMap transferred its electronic cartography expertise from the aeronautical to the terrestrial sector, becoming a leader in satellite navigation solutions and fleet tracking systems. Users include a number of armed forces, police forces, fire brigades and emergency services. In 1994, AvMap pioneered the sector of GPS portable solutions dedicated to car navigation, launching the 'Desert Cruiser' followed by 'Road Cruiser', 'Geosat GPS', 'Geosat Evolution', 'Geosat2', together with the 'Geosat 4', 'Geosat 5' and the 'Geosat 6' series. From 2007 the AvMap Automotive B2B unit has been developing super smart, semi-integrated solutions in order to satisfy the high quality standards of the automotive industry. AvMap's partners include PSA Group (Peugeot and Citroen), Toyota, Mitsubishi Motor Company Brazil and many others.
